The Attio Workflows Handbook documents the new Workflows engine: every block, every credit cost, and follow-along go-to-market (GTM) builds you can ship. Attio shipped that engine in June 2026. It added AI agent blocks, custom JavaScript, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool access. It also added support for more than one trigger per workflow, and a cheaper credit model. The official docs explain what each block does, but they do not show you how to build with them. This handbook fills that gap. It is also open source, so if you spot a mistake, open a pull request.

How this handbook is organized

Six sections, each for a different need. Pick the one that matches what you are doing right now.

Learn

New here? Start with your first workflow, then follow four guided paths in order, from your first alert to an AI agent that owns a stage.

Guides

Know what you want to build? Grab a complete, follow-along recipe with real field values, credit math, and a test you run yourself.

Reference

Need the facts on one block? Every trigger and step, with inputs, outputs, credit cost, and the gotchas the official docs skip.

Explanation

Want to understand why the engine behaves a certain way? Triggers, variables, runs, loops, and the credit model, explained.

Troubleshooting

Something broke? Diagnose a failed or runaway workflow and fix it, with the common errors and a production runbook.
