The Delete list entry block (Lists) removes one entry from an Attio list while leaving its underlying record untouched. A list entry is the link between a record and a list, so deleting it removes that link, not the record. The company or person stays in your object. The deletion is a permanent write, so point the block at a single, confirmed entry. Do not point it at the broad output of a lookup.

Inputs

Outputs

None. The block does not expose a useful downstream output. After the deletion, no {{ steps.delete_list_entry.* }} value is available. So if you need to act on the same record later, reference it from an earlier step instead. Use the trigger or a Find records lookup.

Behavior

The block deletes exactly one list entry per run. It accepts a single list entry, so wire it to a value the workflow has already narrowed down to one entry. The trigger entry works, and so does one item from a loop. Deletion is permanent and immediate. Attio removes the entry along with any list-only attribute values stored on it, including stage, source, and priority. The underlying record keeps all of its object attributes and stays in the workspace. If the entry no longer exists when the block runs, the run fails on that block instead of skipping it. To process several entries safely, first resolve them with Find list entries. Then pass each one through a Loop. That way one missing entry fails only its own iteration.

Gotchas

  • It deletes the entry, not the record. The block removes the record’s membership in one list and erases that list’s entry attributes. The record itself survives. Use this when you want to take something out of a pipeline view without deleting the company or person. See Records vs list entries.
  • The deletion is permanent. There is no undo, and there is no downstream output to recover the deleted values. Gate the block behind an If or Filter condition so it only fires on the exact records you mean to remove.
  • A missing entry fails the run. If the entry was already deleted or never matched, the block errors instead of passing. When the entry might not exist, confirm it with Find list entries first. Then branch on whether a match was returned.

Examples

Removing a lost deal from the onboarding list

When a deal for Acme is marked Lost, drop Acme from the active onboarding list so the Customer Success view stays clean. Acme is removed from the onboarding list, the deal record stays in the Deals object, and the onboarding view no longer shows Acme.

Pruning a duplicate pipeline entry

A Find list entries lookup returns two entries for the same company. Delete the older one inside a Loop so the pipeline shows a single card per account.
The duplicate entry for Acme is removed, one card remains on the Sales pipeline list, and the loop continues to the next matched company.

Credit cost worked example

Each run of Delete list entry costs 1 credit because it is a write. Say a workspace sweeps roughly 200 lost or stale deals off a pipeline list each month. That spends about 200 credits on this block. Compare that monthly total against your plan’s allowance on Credits & pricing explained. The lookup and condition blocks that feed it are free, so only the deletions themselves bill.
